D'SILTING MACHINE
Cleaning underground drainage, sewage lines, manholes, and wet wells has long posed significant challenges for Municipal Authorities, primarily due to the inherent risks to human life involved in these tasks. Fortunately, advancements such as high-pressure jetting and suction machines have alleviated some of these concerns, allowing for the cleaning of blocked drainage and sewage systems without requiring personnel to enter hazardous environments. However, the reliance on human labor for the cleaning and de-silting of manholes and wet wells remains a persistent issue.
The situation has become even more complex following directives from the Hon'ble Supreme Court, which mandates that municipalities refrain from sending workers into manholes and wet wells for cleaning purposes, urging them to seek mechanized solutions instead.
In light of these challenges, the Research & Development team at Maniar has successfully designed and developed an innovative machine known as "D'siltman." This hydraulic-operated, winch-driven de-silting grab bucket system, built on a 3 & 4 wheeler platform, offers an effective solution for cleaning manholes and wet wells. The machine can efficiently collect silt and sludge from depths of 30 to 50 feet or more using a lever control, eliminating the need for personnel to enter these confined spaces. It features a telescopic extendable boom for enhanced reach and a rear hopper that minimizes the need for multiple sludge handling, allowing for hydraulic emptying into large containers. Its compact design enables easy maneuverability in narrow lanes and bylanes, making it a cost-effective option. D'siltman performs many functions similar to those of a Super Sucker or Deep Suction machine, all at a competitive price.
